Yoga Lesson

A yoga lesson isn’t exactly what comes to mind when you look at this drawing but it is an accurate depiction of my mind during my failings in yoga lessons. There is in particular one position that is my nemesis which is named (quite appropriately), ‘Downward-facing dog’. I try very hard to concentrate on breathing while my body bends to the dictates of the position but my mind keeps parading my fears and daily worries and it feels as if they are dripping out of my body.

Emergency Call

I constantly live with the feeling that something is going to go wrong. For me, the world is a dangerous place. Of course that is true for a lot of people, but unlike most people, my suppression mechanism doesn’t work very well, so I have no choice but to experience a mild sense of catastrophe, all day, every day. This drawing is a part of a series expressing that sense of coming disaster.
